Title: Which hid kit?
Post by: RedGolfDom on June 28, 2016, 03:57:48 pm: Which hid kit is the best to go for? Ordered some depo projector headlights so need some for them. Also looking around some are 35w and others 55w which is the one I need?

The ballast i screwed underneath the headlamps, the wires and the other square bits I managed to push down and also place towards the bottom of the headlamps.

Hi @RedGolfDom (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11072) I simply used amber 501 capless bulbs mate :happy2:

Post by: RetroRaz on June 29, 2016, 10:03:26 pm: 6 o clock mod is the earthing strip being on the opposite side of where it's supposed to be, so you have to dremmel the plastic on the opposite side of where the bulb sits in so your bulb sits 180 degress the other side. If that makes sense lol. Ive never done it on the 2 cars ive had with xenons.

I didn't bother with it as my beam pattern looks level up against the car in front and level to the no plate height although can adjust the height. :smiley:

i was in the same boat mate. just give these guys a call (http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/) and speak to them. They are rubbish at responding to email but good at picking up the phone.
