I removed an RNS510 from my car earlier in the week and have fitted an RCD310 in its place. I had a 7P6 bluetooth module workign with the 510 prior to removing it. However upon fitting the RCD310 the microphone no longer works.
Before I start into stripping the dash out again to check the microphone plug, does anyone know of any other reason why the mic wouldnt be working after the swap? I assume the pin locations on the RNS510 and RCD310 are in the same position ok?

Could be the coding in the rcd310 or it could be the wiring as well. I remember ordering a bt loom from Eddie-NL and he asked me if it was for rns or rcd. So there may be some sort of difference.

How would the coding differ to affect the mic?

He had in mind voice control.

So the only explanation would be a loose pin then?

The coding in the RNS might be different to the coding in the RCD. Probably a checkbox for mic.

Your mic pins are going to bluetooth plug or green plug on the quad at the moment?
-
In this car they are going to the bluetooth plug, not direct to the quadlock.
But perhaps a pin mightve come loose either at the quadlock or the bluetooth plug?! Seems highly unlikely I know, but not sure what else could be causing it.

I take that back actually. I just assumed the mic wiring pins were going to the bluetooth module, but they may not be!!
From what I can see online the mic is wired straight to the quadlock on an RNS with voice control, whereas they go to the bluetooth module in other cases. I haven't had a chance to strip the radio out again for a look, but assuming this is the case in my car, is it just a case of removing the 2 pins from the quadlock and fitting them in the bluetooth plug? Are the pins the same size?

I see there are 4 mic pins at the quad lock, there's chat of joining 2 together?
