Chopping it in for a BMW 1 series it would seem. Wife never indicates anyway. :signLOL:

Don't they have trouble with timing chains snapping but can't be as bad as that car you have

One of the reasons I went back to petrol after having an (older) diesel was I kept hearing horror stories like this. A lad at work had his dpf filter go on his Audi A3 and it cost him £2000.
-
Heard a few of these stories on the one six CR Rich... :ashamed:
... On the other hand, my probably older CR 2.0 derv with Revo juice and regular track days has been absolutely bullet proof. Manual too. It gets serviced every 8k miles admittedly, but get her a CR170 or 184 next - won't be any worse on fuel in my experience and bit of extra poke :pomppomp:
-
Feck, that's some decent garage bills right there :( Sorry to hear that. What next then? Leasing?

2000quid you never see again. Plus she does too many miles.

Very true about the deposit, has to be worked in there and with doing big miles the costs get a bit silly for lease.
Yet, Seat Leon 290 Black Edition, £130 p/m (http://www.solentvehicleleasing.co.uk/cars/info/20920/SEAT-LEON-CUPRA-Petrol-Hatchback-manual.html) :surprised:

Deposit down on a BMW 120D Msport Auto. Pick it up saturday.

Did you find a decent BM dealer @rich83 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=709) ?

Not yet. I'll do most of the upkeep myself.

I have to say..... this car is absolutely fantastic. 2011, on 44,000miles. The auto gearbox is smooth, the ride is good, the engine is fairly pokey too. The chassis is way better than a stock mk5 too. Its not in showroom condition, but it will be much improved with a full machine polish with hopefully @xjay1337 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=7542) will do for me for a few rupees!
First hitch..... rear tyres.... 170quid EACH! Glad its not mine :signLOL:
-
Looks like a nice motor hopefully you'll have more luck with this than the last one.
I take it the tyres are run flats at that price?
-
Thanks Nodz...
Yeah.. Bridgestone RE050 245 35 18 RFT
225 40 18 will be going on front as they are cheaper and grip better than the 215 40 18 OEM fit.
