I just got my car back on Friday
Golf Gti with an axx engine code
It went in for a bad habit smoking problem
So I bought all genuine parts from Tps
Head set with bolt
Piston rings
Bearings
Valve stems ,
And gaskets
Sent the turbo to get reckoned and found it has a crack
Across the waste gate ,so it was scrap.
I bought a new one not a recon
I sent the head to the machine shop for a clean,
Guides and stems
The machine shop built the head up for me
The chain and tensioner was new in April this year ,
Anyway got my car back Friday and it's noisey
Sounds like the chain is rattling sound like a 2 stroke chain saw
The cars drives perfect no fault codes or lights on the dash
On the bonus side no more smoke and got 37mpg
Which I have never seen on this car before
Has anybody had this before ,
Can I claim of Vw for faulty parts
-
Can you prove faulty parts??and not poor fitting? .

The Chain and tensioner was put on by the machine shop
Who we use a lot and never had a problem before
The garage I usehave a good working relationship with Tps
I will get the garage to ring Tps tomorrow to
See what they say

That's good to know, hopefully you'll get it sorted out but sad to hear the chain or tensioner may have failed :surprised:

Have you had the oil pressure checked?
