So after 13 months of my GTI being parked up I got a battery fitted and it's starting up fine. Problem is the following warning lights are appearing,
Power steering
Abs
Handbrake
Abs
Traction control
Usually these light have went off themselves in the past after a drive but after a good 10 min drive the lights are still on... Car will be getting mot'd in a few weeks so want to get them off ASAP... Any help would be appreciated

You need to scan your car with vcds to find out the errors. Most likely the 3 usual basic settings in abs module need to be performed.

Isn't that the full turn left, full turn right and straight on to calibrate steering? After sitting up for 13 months I'd give the whole thing a once over before starting it to be honest!

Ok thanks for the advice, I'll try to find someone with a VCDS.. Can the lights be cleared via VCDS? Car was fully serviced before it was parked up so hopefully everything should be ok mechanically.
Think abs, traction and power steering lights should be down to the brakes being corroded.

Lights will be cleared with one click from VCDS and if they return it's something more sinister!
