Title: Beware! watch out for leaky air fresherners on your dash
Post by: njdudsbury on January 18, 2010, 09:52:30 pm
Just to let you know chaps
I had a ambi pure air freshener on one om my centre vents and it has leaked!
This melted all the rubber coating of the trim below it, exposing the black palstic underneath and it looks a right mess.
Need to replace the trim now.
Its the surround that goes around the centre vents, houses the hazards light switch and has the vent in the top which I believe can be removed.
Anybody got one thay want to get rid of?
Cheers

I'm afraid thats the case with a lot of air freshners. Even the card based ones a la magic tree will have a similar effect if left on any interior surfaces.

Always let your trees dangle guys! :p

1. Where did you get it from?
2. Do you still have the receipt?

In my old car, I bought one of those fresheners and stuck it on the vent. Overnight, it had leaked down onto the new stereo surround and the fascia adaptor, marking both. I was pretty miffed to say the least. Told my mate about this a few weeks later when he saw it and told me it had happened to him but he went straight back to halfrauds the next day and complained. He got a replacement stereo fadcia for free.

I have an under-seat air freshener - small grains in a mesh bag that go under the seat out of sight.  Halfords sell them and they are in a yummy berry flavour. :chicken:
