Is it worth changing the OE sump plug for a magnetic one? I'm going to be changing the oil this weekend so it will be off anyway.
-
Yes
They're not expensive so there's no downside to doing it.
-
Yes @vRSAlex (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1981) will sort you out with one :)

I thought there was a magnet in the sump anyway?
-
Anyone know how much the one from AKS is?
-
£15 + few quid postage iirc
-
I've got one of these from Motor Sport Developments - have a good rep with the Cossie boys I work with.

Is it really worth changing the OE sump plug for a magnetic one? like you can get sump plugs for 1 quid or 2.
-
I think I'll stick to a sump plug for £1.50.
Most of the stuff is caught in the filter anyway. :booty:

..
I made a magnetic one myself and to be fair it did collect a fair amount of very very fine metal particles. I did however replace it with a normal one.

ECS ones are only £12 from psi tuning

I was ordering spark plugs from AKS anyway so I've ordered a magnetic sump plug from them.
