Hey I've got a mk5 golf gti dsg but the prat I brought the car off of took the dsg Streeing wheel off and put a flat bottom gti streeing wheel on so I'd like to know if I buy another dsg streeingwheel is it an easy swap ? And if I get a dsg streeingwheel without an airbag will my flat bottom airbag steeringwheel fit ? Thanks sorry and spelling lol

I'm guessing yours is a 2005 car?
Paddle shifts were actually an option on the first DSG cars.
Can't help with retrofitting a paddle wheel, although I know it's been done.

physically a simple swap. if your cars not originally intended to have paddles you may need new modules and wiring.

This should help http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,22794.0.html

Yes it will work. If it had dsg steering wheel then you will just need to change the new one over. Airbag will fit but check the wiring loom as it might be different.

I wasn't aware that there was a difference in the steering wheels between years.
