Being the ham fisted chump I am, during recent events under the bonnet it turns out during the removal / refitting of the engine cover i've managed to break the Inlet camshaft control valve N205.
Anyone any idea where to get another, if it's a dealer only part or how much they are please.
Also how easy to fit? I'll have a look round the forum later as pushed for time now.

Your not alone there are a few who have also done the same.
It retails at VW somewhere around £100. I have a new one available if interested pm me.
Easy to fit just two hex bolts.

Thanks, now just trying to work out how to get the broken part of the switch out of the plug

You cant take the socket out of its metal housing if thats what you mean? You need to remove the two small torx bolts at the base of the n2505 and then pull it up and out as one. Then replace the whole thing.

Or do you mean a bit of the broken n205 is stuck in the plug? Tweezers?

Yeah, did it thanks
Don't know about tweezers, I'm not that subtle! :happy2:
Mole grips for me as it was very tight, hardest part was loosening the little clip while trying to lever the broken bit out with only 2 hands.
Managed to poke a tie wrap in to hold the little tab open then prised the other part out.

Big thanks to @v4rley (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6697) for sending the part. :happy2:
Arrived today, as described and now fitted (and hopefully) fixed. :driver:
