Car has been in for service and had a bush replaced on fhe front offside and we thought this would solve the problem. It hasn't ! So when going over a bump or small pothole or similar the top of the wheel hits the wheel liner at the too of the arch. The aervice guys etc said they could find nothing else wrong with ghe front suspension , so what coukd it be ? The car is not lowered and sits level on both sides. The shocks work as they should . What are the things to check?
Any advice welcome.

Is this on a car you've just acquired?
-
Is it straight?!

We have had it 3 years , well my son has , been owned by two other previous forum members. I expect he has duffed the front at some stage as the wheel has a slight flat spot and was put on the back when new tyres were put on it recently. Surely if there was someting like this wrong with it a service would have found the issue , especially as they put on new front tyres , replaced a bush and both CV boots ?

Probably not, unless they were looking for it and knew what to look for.
It might be a 'little kink' in the subframe. Do you have a good specialist near you?

No , great pity tbh.

Where are you based?

I assume it's a MKV and it drives in a straight line and your not fighting with the steering under normal driving etc.
If the answer to the above are yes, I would look for weak shocker and part of the coil spring broken.

Ipswich , ish

There's AKS, but they're in Bedfordshire. Bit of a trek.
Was just thinking of somewhere that has a bit of experience with these cars that could get it on the ramp for a look.
Like doylebros says though, it could be a snapped spring. I'd advise getting a second opinion at somewhere other than your usual garage.
