I'm also searching this forum for previous Topics on the subject.
Has anyone done this or does anyone know how big a job it is and likely cost?
Had Xenons in every car for the last 12 years and don't want to change now. However a lot of ED30's I'm looking at don't have them.
Any help much appreciated.

Get some depo xenons £250 with xenon bulb kit or go the long route and fit oem with washer jets bumper inserts and self levelling sensors etc but will cost you £700 ish +.
-
The few cars I'm looking at actual have the winter pack fitted so washer jets already covered.
-
What is the deal with washer jets and Xenons anyway, is it correct washer jets are a legal requirement which is why washer jets are always fitted with Xenons of OEM.
So what happens when people got them after market but don't fit the washer jets?
-
It only compulsory when you've go oem xenons from factory fitted or have them fitted. After market xenons don't count and will pass the MOT. something to do with lights being either iced up in winter or snow covered. I may retro fit some in myself some time soon depending on if I find a set cheap :signLOL:

I had retrofitted oem xenons to my car, passed mot without the washers :)

Also depends on the MOT tester Raz :signLOL: the guys at my old place were dogs when it came to xenon bulbs and washer systems. failed them all the time except for their own cars. hypocrisy there.
BTW @Tinytim (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=4466) RetroRaz is your man for retro fitting the oem set up

Are aftermarket lamps okay? I see Euro Car Parts have pattern parts that although look the same are ever so slightly different to the OEM units?

I have a set on mine as with most of the forum users on here and they're as good as

I'd prefer to go the proper OEM route if possible. I'll do some more searching on here to find other members post/photos who have done it.
I understand the OEM ones have self levelling devices, are they possible to fit also. 'Do be hoping to achieve a full OEM install.
Also what is the bi-xenon thing, seen threads on non shutter version or something like that.
I'm sure on my last MK5 which had OEM Xenons the Xenon went out when full beam was turned on.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331715588547
With a hid kit added for another 30-50 you're good to go..I have these as in my signature and I like them. They also have the black innards as I didn't like too much chrome in my lights.
