Took my car into the dealer on Monday as it was driving badly - my scan pointed to goosed DV.
Monday dealer said lots of codes showed up and they needed to call VW technical.
Today - DV replaced which has fixed most of issue, but they want to do a cold start test tomorrow, as its still 'not running as it should, sir'
Thankful I kept up with the extended warranty the last owner took out!
-
hmm. 3 days and still no definitive reason to why its wasnt running right?
Did you ask what codes was showing up?
Its all under warranty anyway but cant see why they need a vw tech to resolve a dv issue.
let us know how it goes
-
Request a print out / email of the codes.
-
Some of the delay may be as its warranty work, but that's just a guess.
I'll ask for the print out of the codes when I hopefully pick it up tomorrow.
Part of me is hoping they change a bunch of other parts as I've got an excess to pay!

Bet they have put a few dozen hard miles on your car whilst it's been there too

My dash cam is direct wired to the fusebox so every time I leave my car in for a bit of work I'll check the footage if the mileage looks strange!
One guy took my car to his own house 20 miles away that night and took his gf out for dinner :signLOL:

Dealer just rang.
The additional issue was broken / dodgy wire going to DV - they've repaired that and alls good. Even did that but FOC.
Also - courtesy car was a Golf SV - worked a great as I had a load of stuff to take to the tip, including a bog, sink and bath!

Just took it out for a blast. Lots more power now. The DV must have been in its way out for some time, as it feels so much more powerful than it ever has.

That feeling doesn't last for long. Soon you'll grow used to it and you'll want a remap! :driver:

Happy days :D

Warranty takes forever as technical are idiots and when calling them takes over an hour for bull**** that we knew anyways but as it's warranty Germany wants to know the in's and outs of why what and how.

^This.
Dealer ordered a new DV on the first day and then spent the rest of day 1 waiting for VW to get back to them.
Remap - not on the cards at the moment! Got other things to sort first like the suspension.....I've already got springs and shocks to go on.
