Yes ASAP!

It should have had 2 by now, Every 4 Years regardless of Mileage.

My Edition 30 is a 2008 and had one in 2012, It has only covered 20K Miles since then but will be getting done in a few Months as it was 4 Years ago.

P.S change the Waterpump too.

Agree with above.

Do belt change ASAP... Be very gentle with the engine meanwhile.

Can anyone suggest where to get the cambelt and waterpump done? Dealers charge £479!

Going to have mine done on Friday at Quattro tech St Ives in Cambridgeshire, they charge £399, that includes the water pump and the pulleys/bearing.

Sometimes dealers have special offers & you can get your local dealer to price match.
Seat and Skoda dealers are often slightly cheaper & use the same parts.

I can recommend Simon at SVS Autos in Bromley but that might be a bit too far North for you?

Have a read of these, or at least a phone around to see what their prices are like for a cam belt change?

I asked the same thing earlier in the year and a local indi wasn't much cheaper then the main dealer.
AMD at Thurrock were around £340 I think. When I asked on here if anyone had used them for cambelt change I didn't get any response so in the end I got it done at AKS with a few other things.

It might be worth asking again about AMD as the price was by far the best around in Kent.

I used AMD up in Lakeside for a cambelt + Waterpump change on my old GTI. Charged me £312 at the time. couldn't fault their service, and will be using them again if I need to.

with regards to the price tt was about 2 years ago though so maybe it has gone up!
