Title: New diverter valve shot after only couple hundred miles?
Post by: Skilgannon on September 04, 2016, 07:56:14 pm
Hi,

Just recently changed the diverter valve 200 odd miles ago and it made a big difference in power. But my car is not feeling as quick again and i feel like it might be the valve as its feeling similar to how it was before i changed. But i must let you know though I had two of my mates in the car who are around 13 - 14 stones each so would that make a diff?

I fitted the Rev G valve and i was told it's the best one. My question is can it pop that quickly? I haven't been booting the car either just the odd blast here and there.

I have a Bluetooth OBD2 reader if I plug it in would that give me a fault code?

Having passengers does/will make the car feel more sluggish. Take it off and check it?

They generally last a few Years not a few hundred miles!

Probably just paranoia but the way I am I'm gonna lose sleep over it. I don't have the apparatus to check it myself and I ain't got any time to take it to a garage.

Doubt it's shot unless your car is heavily tuned?

If it is shot I would update to a GFB DV+

You won't get a fault code unless you got a light on the dash in the past.

Having 3 fully grown men in the car will slow you down.

^^ This :happy2:

Brought my car over to mate recently to show him all the cool power mods i'd done to it
He's a big, big lad!
Went for a test drive with him in the passenger seat and i definitely felt the car wasn't as impressive as normal. Then when I was driving home again solo, all my lost power was restored!!
Took me ages to put 2 and 2 together
