Title: Too much to fix?
Post by: Optimistictim on September 07, 2016, 12:57:36 pm
Can this be fixed by hand or is this a professional job? It's on the rear wheel arch.

Depends on how much of a perfectionist you are. I had a similar situation on my front grill and fixed it.

Process:
Wash the paint down fully and dry.

Sand down if needed to blend.

Fill with grey primer either liquid or putty.

Sand down again if needed.

Paint to colour match your car. Get a tiny artists paintbrush from your local art shop.

Paint on a clear lacquer to protect.

Polish to blend it all together.

Wax and seal.

Now all of this depends on your ability with a paintbrush and having a colour match paint along with plenty of drying time between coats.

Thanks all! I will get a quote and if it's expensive I will give it a go myself!
