What do you think about me fitting porsche turbo brakes on my golf?.
Thanks

I think you're pretty much in the same boat as 18z with those. And interestingly, all the threads about 996 Turbo brakes are from a good few years ago... before the TTRS kit became so popular.
It's a bit of a minefield isn't it.

definitely and I think I'll just go porsche brembos :signLOL:
I have 15mm spacers so it's a straight bolt on as seller has complete kit

I like the Mk7 GTi PP brakes with the "GTI" script, they work well enough on a Golf.

Yeah that's what I've got. Still not on the car yet but they should be good enough for the kind of driving I do. I was commited to getting a proper 4/6 pot kit like r5gtt, but in the end it just seemed like too much for what I needed. I might still end up with a bigger kit in the future, just depends how far I go with power. The calipers weren't expensive, and the discs and pads are reasonable too, so at the very least it means I can get the terrible standard brakes off sooner rather than later.
It's pretty cool that they're red and have the GTI logo too!

See the way I see it is if you're going to go BBK the may as well do it in one go rather than pis**** about and wasting money from one to the other. the mk7 brakes aren't for me as people who own mk7 are moving onto bigger things hence I think I don't want what they have as single pots don't do it for me :signLOL: especially if I'm heavy footed at times.

You just want some brake porn behind your wheels, admit it!

Got them a bit battered and bruised but a lick of paint will sort them out after a good sanding as I don't have a sand blaster :sad1:

It was a horrible experience with all those dark lanes and poor car lighting :surprised: worst drive of my life. got to my destination and millions of pot holes to dodge around Cranfield university.

I have the mk7 GTi PP brakes on a mk7.... they really are up to the job and a notable improvement over the regular GTi.
I also have Porsche Big reds on a lightweight Porsche, they are almost too good for the road and you run the risk of someone hitting you up the rear in an emergency!
Unless you are using it on track, I wouldn't bother with the Big reds, unless you must have a Porsche badge on your VW? :)

I need these brakes to stop when I want to stop  not worried about anyone hitting me or am I.
