Title: Cruise Control Retrofit and MFSW install - is this expensive?
Post by: jaylufc17 on September 15, 2016, 02:55:34 pm
Own a 57 plate GTI DSG MK5 and got a quote to to retro fit cruise control and install MFSW buttons (I have already purchased the buttons of @

Basically I have googled the loom and can see its around £25-£30 mark however if the part is not needed then I'll just be stuck with the item unless I find someone that's willing to let me return.

Just wondering whether the below is pricey?

I did a bit more digging in to fitting the buttons to a non multifunction wheels and it looks like the loom you need should be 1K0 971 584 C which is £53.04 including VAT from VW. We can supply that if you need us to. While I was looking for that part number I noticed that your current steering wheel will need to be modified to accept the buttons and control module which I hadn't accounted for in the original quote so that would need to be adjusted slightly.

So to confirm we have:

Supply and fit cruise control stalk - £137 inc VAT
Harness for buttons - £53.04 inc VAT
Fitting buttons - £30 inc VAT

Total: £220.04 inc VAT.
