Hi,
First time on here with a new to me GTI. So far it's been faultless, managed to get me to the 'ring for a few laps and coped well.
Now, I've just changed jobs and will be looking for some winter tyres/ wheels, as they'll be required in the area. My question is, what size wheels can I get (smallest ideally) to fit the car. Either that or I'll need to buy some 18" winter tyres.
Cheers

On standard gti brakes the smallest you can fit is 16"
R32 brakes the minimum is 17"

Thanks for that, any suggestions on wheel type/ designs or is it any of the oem 16" VW/ vag will fit.
Cheers.

I never looked what 16" wheels clear gti brakes as I upgraded to r32 brakes
I would probably get some 17" wheels and winter tyres as the price difference will be minimal and you have the chance of upgrading brakes without changing wheels again
I'm assuming oem wheels would work but wouldn't be able to list any plus 17" will be easier to get and you know 100% that they clear the brakes

17'' wheels will clear R32 brakes and provide much better handling. What's your purpose? Just drag pulls?

Thanks for the replies, the cars for work only now and will need winters.
