Title: Fitting a RCD510 DAB to 2008 MK5 Golf
Post by: abdoujaparov on September 19, 2016, 07:45:34 pm
Hello there! first post newbie alert....

Recently changed car to a 2008 MK5 GT 170 and am looking at swapping out the headunit for a genuine DAB unit if possible.

Just working out a bit of a shopping list and things to look out for.

I have read that i may need a bluetooth unit if i want to use bluetooth with the RCD510, can anyone confirm?
Reading up on various CAN/ battery drain issues, will the 2008 be affected by this?

So far i believe i need the RCD510 DAB unit and a suitable DAB ariel. Anything else? harnesses etc?

Cheers!

You will need fm/am arial adapter and DAB antenna. Your gateway is okay, will not get battery drain. For bluetooth - need to buy the proper kit.

Thanks, do you know the model number for the proper kit? Or have a link to it?
