Is anyone here with a K version CAN Gateway (or earlier) running 2680 firmware on the RNS-510b without any battery drain issues?
Trying to find out from anyone that has, whether a gateway upgrade is really required to go from 1120 to 2680.
Thanks in advance,
Ron

Over at motor-talk.de there are a couple of reports that K is fine with 2680

Interesting, thanks for the reply cameluk, I'll take a look over there.
Anyone else tried it, or heard of any other confirmations..?
Cheers,
Ron

In theory K and above should be okay.

What reg we talking for a K can gateway. I honestly cant remember which revision mine is.

My car fitted with the K revision CAN gateway was built in July 2007. From what I can tell K revision was in use from April 2007 untill June 2008 when it was replaced with the L revision.

Really? My car was built in October 2007, reg'd Jan 08 and bought by me Aug 08. It has the L version of canbus. The only thing is I asked the dealer to fit an ipod cable to the RCD 500. No idea if this required upgrading the canbus.

Revision change dates were obtained from the ETKA parts catalogue, perhaps the availability of newer revisions differs between the factory and the dealer parts network..?
My car is a very early 08 model year. One of the option codes indicates that is a Pre-production series/next model year build, maybe factory revision changes are brought in after this cycle...

Just thought I'd update this thread. I've upgraded the firmware on my B revision RNS-510 to 2680 and have no battery drain issues with my K revison gateway. :happy2:
Thanks to everyone that replied, gave me the confidence to take the plunge and upgrade.
Cheers
Ron.
