Post by: btfree on September 28, 2016, 10:54:12 pm
Thinking of picking up a used set of 17''s for winter & get my ch reps referred over winter.

The same all year 'round here in the NW part of Oregon. Wheels are Nurburgring's and tires are Conti Extreme Contact DW.

They don't salt here...they spray magnesium chloride.   I pressure-spray the under carriage regardless after driving on sprayed roads.

Depending on budget. I will go see my local used tyre place (hes actually quite good has decent stock).

If I find any nearly new Michelins or Goodyear (maybe Dunlop or Contis) winters il get them. Wont be paying more than £35 a corner.

If buying new I may be trying the Nokian WR3 that are recommended on here.

I picked up a set of OEM 16" steels with Dunlop Winter Sport on them from a classifieds ad a couple of years back, for £200.  Still haven't used them yet!

I might use them this year anyway, even if we don't get a cold winter, just to see what they're like!
