Title: Diverter valve threads ripped. Help please
Post by: lukemk5gti on September 30, 2016, 04:28:24 pm
I ripped the thread on the top left bolt on my diverter valve.

Any idea how I might get it off now?

Very hard to get to with a k03

You mean you damaged the bolt head or the threads in the turbo?

If it's the bolt, then it's simple, just get a new bolt. If it's the turbo, then you need to get the thread re-cut or a helicoil put in. I would of thought it would be hard to strip the thread in the turbo though.

Sorted now.

I mean I damaged the bolt head.

Ended up hammering the hex head into place to just bite it enough to turn it.

New gfb DV + time

Where did you get the DV+ from Luke and how much?

Think that's next on my list of things to do, so looking round for the best deal now
