Hi guys, another winter protection detail from me.
Nothing massively in depth unfortunately, ive just written this write up and somehow deleted it! fail!
This MK5 R32 Was booked in for a winter enhancement and protection detail. see below:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fmiglior.co.uk%2Fimages%2Fbranding%2Fwinter-sm.jpg&hash=503c94b033fbfc216ec61a1484fff029960b158c)
The owner also paid for an extra 2 hours to be use in the correction stages to ensure there was the maximum correction achieved.
Overall, the car was in great condition, its only just over a year old. Its done 5000 miles and in my opinion, probably one of the best examples of the mk5 R32. Its got every option, including Recaro's, Its in Deep Blue Pearl Metalic, and its a 3DR!
Now, i filmed every step of the way of this detail so i didnt do too much of a great job of photographing it. Added that to my deletion, im chucking this out as a more "afters photo drool fest" than anything else.
cheers guys!
Polished with Swissvax Cleaner fluid Pro.
LSP was Zaino sealant with Swissvax Best of show.
Every external surface was cleaned and protected mainly with swissvax products.

Whilst the sealant was curing, i sorted out things like glass, exhaust, arches, wheels and tyres etc
After the sealant was curing, i treated the car to what it really wanted, some Swissvax Best of Show! ;)
Hope you like the after guys, sorry for the quick write up!

bloody good job there mate, a couple of questions for ya
1) what are you using on the tyres
2) what do you use on black bumpers
3)after a detail like that, even with very carefull cleaning eg pre clean and two bucket method, how long would you expect the car to remain swirl free and in good condition with out needing another correction

1) Either Swissvax Pneu or Gloss it TRV. Sometimes Megs endurance or zaino. sorry not decisive, but it changes.
2) make sure they are clean then ill use a satin UV protector. again, that can change on the plastic.
3) i would expect the protection to last for about 6 months and slowly break down after 9-12 months, but it usualy degrades quite evenly, and with the right care, a zymol wax can easily last 12 months. in terms of a swirl free finish, that can last forever as long as your washing technique is dialed.
an example would be my car, i gave it a full correction last jan i think. there are a few areas that need attention now, but its nowhere needing a full correction. All i need to look at is areas where things have touched the paint. Like people unknowingly leaning on the car etc.
Your bound to get the odd mark (less than 0.5% of the paintwork) but on the whole, i cant see my car needing any major work for the next 2-3 years, if ever.
I just keep on top of it with the protection. ;)
-
stunning car , jay you are a credit to the detailing world :happy2: now just move down to the midlands so you can do mine

Thats what I like to see! A man at the top of his game ! :congrats: Looks awesome!
Wish I lived closer to you so my GTI could get some of your expertise. :sad1:
-
Top job mate, the finish is incredible! Im more of a valeter than a detailer if im honest :ashamed:
What do you use on the glass?
-
Stunning, Jay!! :notworthy: :congrats: :notworthy: :congrats: :notworthy:

Is that a Blueflame exhaust ?
If so, how does it sound, in comparison to the milltek?
