What do you mean by fake R32 tail pipes. Most fit a Y pipe in place of the backbox but not fake as in fully working tailpipes still.

If this is what you mean then you basically need:

 - R32 Valance(Lower Bumper) and Diffuser(Black Exhaust surround. Can get rep on ebay for around £100 or genuine for about £200-£250. Also got to think about cost of re-spray if primed or not in your colour.
 - R32 Y Pipe with Tips(recommend 4" as fit the diffuser holes perfect). Can either get one made from ebay by a few companies that do it and fit yourself if know what you are doing. Or easiest is to contact an exhaust fabricator and get them to customs make one and fit. The key thing is making sure they line the Y pipe up correctly so when the tips go on they are in the centre of diffuser holes as have seen some that look awful. Got mine done in Birmingham for a good price and was spot on.

Yeah I am North Notts but glad I travelled to get mine done at this place in Brum as they were half the price and the end result was better than most that have paid £300+ :)

I have taken up DDIY (Don't Do IT Yourself) :)

No my friends,,  The pipes on my gt tdi face downwards behind its bumper but I've been thinking for a while now about having some R32 front & rear bumpers fitted, The fake centre tail pipes don't actually join the back box they are only fitted to the rear bumper

Ah right, never heard of anyone doing this. Presume if say your backbox sits directly behind exhaust holes you could attach them to the backbox and line up. Otherwise would just need to attach to back of diffuser with some kind of bracket

when you get the bumper fitted just get a exhaust  to fit yours properly

There used to be a good few places back in the day one with remapping and rollers but both moved on back in 2000ish and I've never seen another lol

That's a good abbreviation for not trying this at home  :signLOL:

Yeah I searched for ages around me and only found a few garages who were charging £300+ and could not fit me in for weeks. Plus when I said can you custom make and fit a R32 Y pipe they did not know what I wanted and I had to explain which worried me. Then found RJ Performance in Birmingham who knew exactly what I was on about, only charged £140 and fitted me in within a week

That is an absolute bargain for the time and effort that has to go into it with  measuring and aligning it all perfect as can be.

If & when I do go for the R32 bumpers would anyone be interested in the gt tdi front bumper/grill ? It's in great condition & would be a shame to just stick it in the shed !!

Yes mate, he said to me as I was paying saying the hardest part is lining it up properly so that the tips sit correctly in the exhaust holes and mine was bang on in terms of height and centre. Had on for quite a few months now and everything still aligned perfect

It'll be well worth the trip so long as you get it booked in and save you a packet in the long run from any local garage and bonus they know what they're doing. Good luck

I'm still unsure what to do,,, I don't want to spend a load of money then regret it if you know what I mean, To be honest I do like the front look of the car but it's that big plastic rear bumper that I never have liked.
