i just installed them, and then switched beam on and they flickering - now they are not on at all @RetroRaz (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6494)

I'm guessing you haven't coded them? They will flicker until you can code them and tell the car Xenons are fitted
-
they come on when I open door (leave home feature) then they flicker if i put lights on or leave in on auto. @fab5freddy (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=3064)

even if i wire in the yellow wires to cecm quickly (bi xenon shutter)

They need coding buddy, your car has been coded to run with halogens, it now needs to know it's running xenons, a simple check box in VCDS will sort the flickering.
Running the wire back to the CECM is totally different function and has no bearing on the flickering your experiencing.
Check the VCDS register for someone close by who might be able to help you out :happy2:

-
I pulled out fog lights switch and then the dimmed lights started to work again??? enabled me to drive to dan in the dark! - and then when I flashed high beam the disco started again?
dannyboy66 sorted coding for me so thanks for all the info!

Needs coding... I had this issue on my old mk5 tdi when I installed xenons.
To start I though i had got away with coding until i flashed my lights then DISCO TIME! :signLOL:

I know this is an old post BUT I have just fitted xenons on my mk5 golf that came from a gti edition 30 and have the flashing lights. Can someone point me in the right direction for coding as I have tried with several vcrs and nothing seems to stop this happening I think I'm missing something. Thanks
