Title: Help, Clunking noise from clutch.
Post by: Skilgannon on October 13, 2016, 09:38:42 pm
Hi,

I'm getting this clunking noise when I press the clutch and when I lift off the clutch. It happens when the car is off and when driving. What can it be, the clutch is perfect otherwise.

If it's happening when the car is off with engine not running it sounds like something simply coming in contact with something as you actuate the pedal.

Let a trusted Indy mechanic have a listen feel.

Hopefully nothing too serious :happy2:

Thank you. That's what I was thinking. It's a weird one.

Yeah, if the function and activation of the clutch are good when the car is running I can't imagine it's anything too serious

If it was a release bearing or flywheel issue you would usually only notice it with the engine running.

From the video it sounds innocent enough. I'm no Mechanic though so i'd still get it checked out :happy2:
