Title: ATE Ceramic pads
Post by: MPS on October 22, 2016, 04:42:45 pm
Just noticed these ATE Ceramic pads on ECP whilst shopping around for brake pads. Quite a bit dearer than normal pads but apparently last longer, are award winning and produce less dust and are from a reputable brand - IIRC, think it's the brand VW use for OEM parts as well? Any thoughts? Anyone tried these?

Here for thr comments. Needing new discs and pads and I've no idea what to go for.... these did catch my eye but the focus looks to be durability and reduced dust rather than decent performance.

For your brakes you can consider the EBC Redstuff since they're also ceramic. I know some have had problems with them but mine have withstand 2 track days and around 5k miles of daily driving without issues. I do know mine are huge compared to most pad sizes. I don't know if that makes any difference.

The seller told me that EBC due to those issues now only recommends the Redstuff for +200 BHP cars.

Bought ATE plain discs for less than 100 € from Oscaro.es and they're 350 mm. Being performing faultless with no significant wear so far.
