Title: Forge or airtech intercooler ?

Hi thanks for reading this post Iv just saved enough for my intercooler new iv just sold my welly cooler as didn't want to cut crash bar etc so looking at the easier fitting option but which one airtech forge or any other makes thanks

i've got the airtec twin cooler.  pretty much same thing but airtecs £300 cheaper and available in black  :happy2:

Bear in mind pressure drop. K03 cars might lose a bit of response with bigger coolers like the Peron. I remember Wagner being praised a few years ago, but they were a bit expensive from what I remember. I'd have APR if money didn't matter.

Iv heard the peron isn't any good for the k03 I'm only going R-tech stage 2 currently AMD stage 1 Iv been told the s3 is the best but I'm after the visual as well (show off )  where did you fellas get the airtech from so cheap ? Thanks

The intercooler is hidden anyway so you can buy a solid gold one if you want, no one will see it.

I would go with the S3 cooler.... you can pick them up for about 150 usually.

i bought mine direct from airtec. was cheapest way.  the twin cooler does sit in front and keeps your standard intercooler in place running in parallel heres some pics grill off and on

Looks nice that fella what was the damage for that mate and was there any cons to installing it ? Mapped figures with or without ? Thanks

That Airtec twin thing is like the Forge Twintercooler isn't it? So it's an additional series of hoses and an additional volume to fill with compressed air, as well as the oem IC for all the air to travel through. If you're in Dubai and doing quarter miles all day while sitting on tickover for ages in between runs and don't mind loads of pressure drop... go for it!

I just can't see how something like that would be beneficial on a k03 daily? Maybe on a 400+ car running 2 bar, but surely you'll lose more response than you gain in power on a k03.

S3 IC replaces the standard IC. Job done really.

I've ordered a Peron. Waiting for it to arrive. I'm K03 at the minute. But I've a K04 in the shed! Would have gone with an S3 cooler if I was staying with the K03. Darkside do there own version of the S3 cooler. It's a little bit cheaper but I'm not sure if it's any good?

i havent had it mapped or on a rolling road before but its made 220bhp with it on and still no turbo lag.  only con in my opinion is having to hack the front bumper slightly. think it was £450 from airtec

I've got a front mount intercooler kit that I picked up really cheap. It's bit like a welly cooler but smaller but unsure if it can run single or twin intercooler setup. Also I don't want to chop my car up to fit it & don't want turbo lag either. I'm staying Ko3 at the minute & want around 270/290bhp mark.
