Title: Engine warning light: Fault code P000A 07E8
Post by: tokomak on October 26, 2016, 12:42:14 am
I have fairly recently bought my first GTI, the car runs fine but a few weeks after purchase the engine warning light came on for a few days. I bought a code reader but before it arrived the light turned off. It recently reappeared, on scanning it the fault code was listed as P000A 07E8 " Camshaft Position Slow response". Looking about this may be caused by the cam follower so I have ordered one and will change it over the weekend.

However is there anything else i should be looking at as the cause or am i on the wrong track with the cam follower.

Hi did you solve your issue, I have the same fault after changing my cam chain tensioner, I'm thinking I've damaged the cam adjuster.

Cam adjuster sealing rings.
I got my cam chain and tensioner done and this code came up, couldn't figure it out.
But on a hunch I inspected mine and found half a ring missing. Put new ones in and problem fixed.
