Title: Skyline modded tails
Post by: mk5Eire on October 26, 2016, 08:29:54 am
I found this guy on Facebook he sells skyline modded taillights , supplies the units himself so no need to send him your lights for £70 Inc postage. Has anyone ever bought off him? Seems very cheap I'm assuming there not genuine vw tails. His page seems to be popular though so I'd imagine he's quite legit.
Here's the link to the page, if it doesn't work just type in mk5 skyline mod tailings into the search box on fb

Thanks guys

Do you know if they come with all wiring required? I'm interested in these also. @RetroRaz (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6494)

im sure I have seen people sell them after taking them off and they have got 2 wires coming out of them which you need to tap into the rear number plate lights. It would be pointless if he sold them without the wires. the LED ring has cables on them so he is probably extending them

Thanks Raz, yes indeed it would be pointless, but in my experience these questions need to be asked,  presumption being the mother all, you know what

of course :) always best to ask if not sure, I recently bought a GFB DV+ off ebay presuming the guy will have the bolts, but NO. I had to get AMD in essex to import them especially from GFB in Australia.

Cheers mate.

Your right from what ive read on the page you need to run a positive into the reg light, cant see that being a big job. I wouldnt have the time nor the confidence to go at this mod myself hence why im looking into this

A very good mod to do with the gti  :happy2:

I'd ask the seller regarding the extended wires to be 100%

I think he splits the lights from the front which is better than splitting from the back.

I did mine from the back and the seal didn't hold  after 6 months but then i reapplied 3 layers of tiger seal and haven't come off in over a year. It does look messy though but it works.

This guy is good, pleasant to deal with and reliable.
Had a set off him for my eddy. Colour match to originals good.

He sometimes works away, so you may have to wait a couple of weeks, but he deals with the email enquiry side promptly, so you'll know what's going on.

I've just ordered a set of skyline modded Valeos from him!

Very excited!! Will take a few weeks as they have to be ordered from Germany and then modified. So far i've found him excellent to deal with. Will let you all know how I get on :happy2:

Is he selling the whole Valeo lights or just the inners and how much he doing em for mate?

It's a full set of Valeos.

He doesn't touch the outers.

He does the reverse light and fog light conversion and the skyline mod to the inners, which he will stand over and warranty If there's any issue with them.

And then posted within the Uk all in for £350 :happy2:

I was chuffed with that as I'm cack handed and was only humming and hawing about buying Valeos as I was sure I'd mess up the reverse light/fog light swap. So this is a win win for me!!

I've just been chatting with him via facebook messenger but he seems like a top lad and a diehard enthusiast.....

You should see his R32.....
It's glorious.... supercharged... big injectors... water meth and 400hp....perfection  :happy2:

£350 is quite reasonable might have to invest in these

Make sure and post a few pics and let us know how the install goes if it's an easy diy job to run the wires

Running the wires through the grommet is the hardest bit, good to keep a coat hanger around

Don't get too worried as a little wd40 down the grommet will make it so much easier as I did the mod earlier this year and used a coat hanger which took seconds to get down the grommet  :happy2:
