Okay, this probably sounds quite stupid, but I am new to the golf brand!
My GTI has blue-ish lights, and they just don't seem to be very bright when driving at night. Can anybody advise what I have (I believe they are whatever "standard" is as the car is stock head-to-toe), and what needs replacing or improving to get them brighter? Would like to be OEM as possible.
Cheers!

Get osram night breaker bulbs. Very nice clean white light. You probably have the mtec bulbs at the moment which are known to be sh*t

Just fitted some night breaker lasers this week. Very impressed, nice white light and really good distance on the beam...I'd recommend them! :happy2:

glad you like them :)

a guess a picture is required to make sure we know 100% if were talking about halogens or xenons here

Probably halogen lights with some cheap eBay special bulbs.
As said, get a set of Osram or Phillips in there and you should see an improvement. From experience the "high performance" bulbs don't tend to last as long though so if you can live with slightly less light output then maybe go with a normal output bulb.
