Title: Tdi or gti
Post by: spwd on November 22, 2016, 01:07:28 am
Hi guys, just signed up recently as I'm considering getting a mk5 gti but wondered if the tdi was a decent option too, obviously the gti will be quicker and more powerful to start with but is the tdi easier to tune cheaper or should I just go for the gti and a remap and the usual first few mods?
I've never had a diesel so have no idea about them, also is this the best site for tdi info?

I've always had fast or sporty cars and very nearly bought a gti a few years ago but ended up with a BMW 645 ci lol.
Unfortunately had to sell that and went from a 328i and now have a 56 plate fiesta st150 tuned to 185bhp at jamsport, I bought it because it's nippy and more practical than the 328 saloon.

If anyone fancies a swap let me know, it's in fantastic condition and has been lowered etc in rare white.

Steve

If your not doing mega miles a month get the Gti or even better the ed30.
There is a few members on here running tdi of which i just sold mine for a r32

Is it cheaper to mod the tdi though as they seem a bit cheaper to buy?

A stage 1 map is about the same cost as a Gti but to go stage 2 is where is gets expensive in tdi
Ie
Hybrid turbo
Full decat exhaust
Remap
Intercooler
Clutch
