Title: oil level sensor delete???
Post by: Jimbozzr6@gmail.com on December 19, 2016, 08:29:36 pm
hi, I'm almost finished fitting my replacement bwa lump. it originally had a axx engine that failed. only problem I'm having is that the new engine doesn't have a oil level sensor in the sump or at all from what I can tell, no hole in sump for it either. Is there a way to delete the sensor so I don't have errors on the dash or should I just change the sump over from the axx engine with the sensor included.would prefer a delete if I'm honest. any help would be much appreciated
cheers

My BWA has the oil level sensor in the sump. You can probably code the car with VCDS to not use the oil level sensor though

Ok thanks it looks like it had a replacement sump at some point, apparently some have the sensor some don't. I will probably just change the sump and sensor from old engine that way I can clean the pickup while I'm at it. Cheers

It CAN be coded out, but if you have the parts then just change it. 10 minute job off the car. FYI other models of the Mk5 platform, i.e. The Seat Leon do not come with the sump sensor.

100% worth changing along with cleaning out the pickup too
