Is it normal for the Xenons to bounce a bit over bumps? Looks like flickering light on the road. The round globe inside the headlight housing is a bit wobbly if I thump the headlight with my hand, more so on the passenger side. It's been like that since I've had the car (over 2 years) and my MK4 R32 was the same.
It's really irritating. Is it noticeable to other drivers? If it's normal I'll live with it, but if not, is there a fix?

It shouldnt wobble as the globe inside is held on by 4 t20 screws. Maybe someone at some point opened the back and didn't tighten it properly.

Wouldn't surprise me. My car is riddled with previous owner bodgings.
I'll check it out for loose bolts but I wondered if the height adjusting motors could get a bit sloppy in these?

Seems it's a common thing, on MK6s and MK7s as well. If I can't sort it I'll live with it!

My LH(driver side here in US) is shaky as well. I also couldn't find the why. I had to change the bulb once and replaced it with oem. While doing that, I tried discovering to reason for looseness and came up empty.

Weirdly it didn't do it last night. Intermittent problems are just the best aren't they!!

I notice mine when behind a car at a stop and idling. If I give it a tiny bit of rev it stops shaking. I need a new headlight housing and I hope that that will be the cure. The outer lens has a few small cracks up high that were hiding behind my old eyelids. I hit an embankment on that corner and the damage was missed when repaired and it was a few years later when I removed the eyelids and found the cracks. When moisture begins to appear inside the housing...I will replace the headlight assembly and hope for no shake! :drinking:
