Guys just removibg this forge dump valve kit off my gti and have noticed last owner has tapped into a different vac line is this an optional extra part or normal one

That's a boost tap. You can remove the whole thing rather than blanking it off. Unclip the corrugated pipe and the there is a 'circlip' at the other end.

Can't see any reason why not, the Forge DV uses vacuum/boost to control the solenoid so it must be a good enough place to take a reading.
Why are you removing the Forge?

Have you got a photo of it? Some people add a spacer into them which makes that horrible sound. This can be removed for a more subtle sound, although aftermarket air intakes can be noisy, even with a OE DV.

It was the forge kit sold it on now :) fitted stock item
