Hi all. Recently bought a 2006 dsg Gti golf with 55k miles on it. Noticed when it gets warm it develops a noise, bit like a diesel actually.... Hard to describe really.
When the car is started cold its totally silent, and will stay that way until it gets right up to 90degrees. Then the noise starts. Inside the cabin you can just about hear it. Just sounds like a tapping noise. I have a video from this evening I will post below from the engine bay to see what ye think. Once revved up to 2,000rpm the noise is gone. I had the cam follower changed yesterday, showed some slight wear but nothing major. So its not that. Any ideas folks??
Cheers

Probably cam chain & tensioner. Search on here, plenty of topics covering it!

Seen a bit about that alright. Think mine sounds worse on the left as you look at it. Chain is on the right.... What im.hoping really is for someone who had the same noise and got it sorted....
