Title: 4" mid maximum mounting depth

Hi guys,

New to mk5 ownership, before I yank the doorcards can anyone do me a favour and let me know what absolute maximum mounting depth is for the 4" mid speaker? I've heard 40mm but surely it's a little more?

Didn't get a chance to pop the doorcard off today as it's been raining all day. Will report back asap unless someone else knows definitively how much depth is available.

Not entirely sure on mounting depth, but I know another member here fitted these...

Simply because the were the best fit he could find that would take a few watts, mounting depth is 33mm.

I don't know about depth, but you want the smallest magnet you can find.

I bought some 4" mid range (think they were some cheap Monacor ones), but the magnet fouls on the recess in the door skin.

Thanks Rob. Haven't had the chance to pop the doorcards off. When I do ill try and get a difinitive answer for anyone changing speakers in the future.
