Hi all
I've just bought some brake calipers off a breakers on eBay and after they got delivered, they are actually silver in colour.
They don't look like they have been sprayed silver - and on the picture of the car they look red..I'm assuming they must have come off a different car. I thought all GTi's came with red calipers?
I don't have a part number to hand as they are currently in my boot but does this sound correct? I'm pretty desperate in getting them on ASAP but didn't want to sound stupid complaining to the seller if this was normal
Many thanks

Shoayb i noticed my rear ones are also silver. I know the pagid ones from euro car parts are also silver so might not be a genuine one maybe?

Good point Raz I'll see if I can find a part number

@RetroRaz (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6494) looks like your right. No part number. Will have to do for now as really need to get rid of my old ones but had it not been the case would have sent them back!
Will just get them sprayed red to match then buy some proper ones once cash flow is available!

I replaced mine a couple months ago with parts direct from VW and they were red.
Would you not spray with with a couple coats of VHT red paint now before you fit them? If you also use a couple coats of high temp clear lacquer they'll last longer. Saves you needing to change them down the line.

@lukemk5gti (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10176) that's the plan - get them sprayed red then fit them on.
