Title: Fitted Forge Intake, rear pipe not secure?
Post by: peter_booker2003 on January 19, 2017, 09:44:46 pm
Got my Forge intake fitted today. All working as it should do and running well.

Upon fitting I noticed a few bits.
Firstly. The heat shield which sits under the filter is very very close to the fan at the front of the engine. Are they all this close? Everything is nice and tight but I fear it may get a little too close for comfort at some stage.

Also, the main pipe, that runs behind the engine and into the filter seems quite loose. There doesn't seem to be anything to hold it rigid towards the bulkhead. Again, has anyone any ideas with this?

Just want to make it fit nice and solid if I can.

Thanks.

Nope, not a twin take.

Its running a piper cross filter with Forge Tubing and Forge Clips. Just seems as though the long section of tubing that runs at the back of the engine needs securing almost?

It seems logical that there should be a fair bit of 'give' if you consider how much the engine slops and rocks. If it was bolted solid I'd imagine it'd just shear its fixings.
