Hi all
Not sure if this has been covered - but after I fitted my RNS510 the sound when playing music seems a lot louder than it should and feels like it's maxing the speakers out earlier on the volume.
Is there a setting on VCDS to "normalise" things if that makes sense?
Thanks in advance

Yes there is a secret menu where you can enable/disable Loudness mate.
Hold settings for 10 seconds or so, let it get passed the service mode and into the test mode. Its under Sound - Set up - Loudness as seen in the below video around the 1m mark.
Enjoy.

Thanks @DrG_GTi (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9708) I'll have a bash at that tomorrow

Had a look and the loudness was already switched off.
@RetroRaz (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6494) has advised me the car might think it has an amp running so will check with VCDS at some point and see if it can be switched off

To which soundsystem is the rns coded to/with?
Pretty sure you can make it go lower with the vcds. I got the VW 10 speaker system in mine and they were playing low compared to when I had my RNS315 installed in the car. Also swapped to a new rns510 now and changed the speaker systems settings with VCDS.

@Christiank (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=17442) I think I've got the basic sound system nothing upgraded. I have seen the audio section in VCDS - just need to get time to play about with the settings.

All right.
I know it makes a difference in the output based on which setting it's at
