Title: Possible Recall

Please bare with me on this. I my dads Impreza is on the list of  Takata airbag recalls (google it)  which is a world wide problem for a lots of Japanese cars and BMW.  This got me thinking is there one for our Golf GTi's. I see that on DVSA website there is a recall for 2006-2007 Golf, Golf plus diesel - Heating element may over heat. My VIN number is not one of the affected cars.

However, the last month I have noticed on occasions burning smell which I think is coming from the vents/engine area.

If you call vw and there is no recall outstanding for your car they will do sod all.
