Title: Installing AUX into an MFD2 unit
Post by: mounty on February 04, 2017, 10:35:13 pm
I've had my Golf Mk5 for a few months now which came with the MFD2 head unit. It has an AUX option however I need to fit one, I am not sure what I need, I think it is this https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Car-Audio-Video-Accessories/Goliton-Aux-adapter-3-5mm-Audio-cable-Skoda/B00NXLYVXA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486247574&sr=8-1&keywords=mfd2+aux  (https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Car-Audio-Video-Accessories/Goliton-Aux-adapter-3-5mm-Audio-cable-Skoda/B00NXLYVXA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486247574&sr=8-1&keywords=mfd2+aux) could anyone help me please? Another question, I have a 6 CD changer and since day 1 it hasn't worked. I have seen on some threads that installing an AUX would mean it wouldn't work anyway? Thanks

i have an MFD2 and aux lead, just with a 3.5 jack and have a working 6 disc changer. there should be an additional input on your unit

No.

Never this easy. It's a very common issue. I ended up installing an xCarLink

I used a Connects2 Adapter, cost £30 iirc and took me 1 hour to fit, has a small amplifier that really does work well for normal listening (im sure an audiophile could make a 7 page presentation about how its not as effective as XYZ though  )
