Does anyone no the Benefits off going for ram air oversize
Compared to standard one, looks to me oversize is a waste off extra cash
Cause it reduces at the 90* bend anyway...

There would be zero benefit on a standard turbo.

I think it's the noise that puts most people off. If we delve into the murky depths of this forum, we also see a lot of comments from people that these 'filter on a pipe' type intakes blunt the off boost responsiveness too.
On the facebook group people are always selling on these kind of intakes. Must be a reason for it :smiley:
Do BMC make a CDA kit for these cars? They used to be great intakes back in the day.

Haven't had any probs with the kit but it's just me and not liking the intake noise anymore

Surely the noise will be exactly the same as any of the filter on a stick options though?
I've not read anything about off-boost responsiveness, how long are you off boost for with a k03 if you put your foot down anyway? 1/4 a second?
There's no BMC kit that I know off, I imagine it would be not too difficult to make something up like this from one of their standard CDA's though.

To answer the OP I personally went for the standard kit because the oversize seemed pointless on a standard/stage 1 car and I didn't like the look of the extra joins/lumps it would have made in the pipework.

It's the KO4 engines that suffer most as they are naturally laggier anyway.
Open cones make the most noise, enclosed ones like the VWR and BMC are quieter. I had a BMC on my old VR6 turbo with a great big GT35R turbo and it wasn't noisy at all :smiley: They're good filters. It freed off 13hp on my standard VR6 many moons ago, with no loss of bottom end either.
