Hi all, I've had ttrs brakes fitted to my s3 for a while and they have been fine until recently.
I'm running the standard 18" wheels, there's not much clearance between the caliper and the inside of the wheel, we're talking millimetres.
They've never caught or rubbed until last week. I heard a grinding noise which stopped after 30 seconds or so, pulled over and couldn't work out what it was, took my car for tyres today and both front wheels have grooves on the inside like the calipers have been rubbing.
The wheels spin fine by hand and there's still the same size gap as there was before so can't work out how they have rubbed?? Has anyone else had this?

A small rock or something might have been trapped between the wheel and the caliper.

I've never known a car as bad as the mk5 for getting stones and grit kicked up and lodged where you don't want it! God knows why. A little stone stuck between a disc and dust shield makes a terrible noise
