Title: Egr removal
Post by: Adamcrake1991 on February 15, 2017, 06:46:40 pm
Hello all, so other day went out started my car and bang the engine management light came on, with the words emissions work shop on the screen. Came to the conclusion it's my egr valve due to the symptoms and reading other people's problems with them! So I want to remove it and give it a good clean get all the carbon out. Would it be easier to remove this when it's hot or cold the bolts seem pretty stuck on also does anyone have the part numbers for all the gaskets I need. Also is there anyway of blanking off the egr valve without mapping it out?

Thanks in advance guys much appreciated

Never heard of egr issues on the petrol engines in ours. Blocked EGR is very much a Diesel thing only. I think you might be barking up the wrong tree to be honest.

It would make more sense to get it scanned for error codes with a vagcom cable and a laptop.  :happy2:
