Ive decided to pull the trigger on a set of OEM wipers this year rather than the usual Bosch ones for the ED30. No specific reason other than wanting to see if the OEM wipers performs better than the Bosch ones.
I got a set of the Bosch A980s for our CC for £17 delivered last week. The OEM wipers are £23 from TPS so not a million miles apart.
I was just going to compare the CC vs ED30 in terms of wiper performance to try and get a good idea of performance, wiping ability etc etc. However, an idea hit me, what if i just fit both cars with one Bosch wiper and one OEM wiper (for the fronts) and then that way I will be able to compare the two more closely and get a better idea on which is "better".
What do you reckon? would the test be fair??

I thought OEM were made by Bosch? In which case they should perform identically?!

Seriously mate, they are windscreen wipers, buy Bosch (or OEM which are Bosch made anyway AFAIK) and be done with it. I am sure you have better ways to try and save five quid every two years or whatever.

FWIW, I've tried aftermarket Bosch and dealer supplied ones and the dealer ones, surprise surprise, last longer and don't judder half as much when they approach the end of their service life.

I just replace the rubber blade that I get from VW: 2x 1K0955429B.

This is quite interesting. How much are the rubber blades out of interest?

Less than €7,50 each.
