Hey guys - I'm after some advise please.
Sadly my father passed away last week, I'm trying to work my way through all the must do's and I suddenly thought about his car. I was a named driver on his policy and it was his wish that I get his car. I'm not ready to start dealing with that right now, but it concerns me the car may not be insured - I'm not entertaining driving it. I realise this will probably differ from insurer to insurer, but is there a general rule that UK insurers follow for death of the policy holder?
Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about the death of your father. As to car insurance, normally the policy will come to an end on the death of the policyholder, so strictly the car will now be uninsured.
I fully understand why you do not immediately want to deal with your fathers estate, but it would be useful to speak to the insurers now.

I'm sorry for your loss. As above technically the car would be uninsured. May be worth a quick call to the insurance company.
