hi all after three years of working flawlessly out of nowhere my rns510 is asking me to insert navigation dvd is there a quick fix for this?
-
If you leave the dvd in the whole time, the laser can etch it.
Remove the disc and inspect, if it's ruined I'm afraid all you can do is buy a new one.
-
The RNS-510 can store the maps in the HDD so it doesn't need to have any DVD inserted for the navigation to work.
-
Sorry for late reply - just to clarify there has never been a cd or DVD in there for navigation it has always been on the hd
-
Have you tried to copy the latest maps version to see if the radio stores it?
-
Yes I will try that whenever I get hold of one thanks but I was concerned about how it just disappeared overnight
-
It's a weird issue, that's for sure. It would indicate some problem with the internal hard drive. If it stores a new maps version, I wouldn't think much of it.
