I gave my calipers a complete refurb and painted them with this: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/car-maintenance-accessories/paints-and-primers/caliper-paint/?993998471&0&cc5_809 They look spot on.

Mine had paint fade so I repainted mine with Tornado red to match the body, I think it looks good not as bright.

I used Hammerite Smooth Red recently and was really pleased with the results, here's a pic but they look even better irl...

Was it easy to get a smooth finish with the paintbrush? And for those that used Hammerite?

I found the Hammerite goes on feeling very sticky and seems to leave a textured finish but as it dries it smooths out. Its just really thick initially so feels like its a rough finish but it smooths out just fine as it dries. One thing to watch is that although its very thick it does run if you put too much on so watch for it collecting on the bottom edges and just brush it out again.

I recently painted a refurbed set of TRW ones. Hammerite smooth red is wonderful stuff. I found it a little too quick to dry and so you get about 20 mins to work the surface before it gets too tacky. Dont put it on too thick or it will dribble. It looks a little streaky initially but does even out as it hardens up. The colour is probably one shade more orange than the original red but matches very closely after they get dirty and have been on a while. I put two thinish coats on in the end and it should be good for years now. Look at my post #10129 in the what did you do today thread.

Oh and by the way I used a half inch brush if you're interested

I've used VHT standard red and it's spot on
