What level.of re-map ?, standard parts "tune up" map or changing uprating parts like injectors turbo etc ??
-
Am planning just a "standard part remap" for the time been.
The problem I have is the car feels faster then I was expecting it to be.I owned a jap wrx bugeye a few years ago which was supposedly 245bhp or 265bhp standard and the gti feels as quick.two or three mates have drove it and are of the opinion it's noway sluggish so has it been previously remapped already?
Is there anyway of telling without talking to all the previous owners

You can check the 0-60 acceleration time. The stopwatch doesn't lie!
-
And what is the 0-60 time??
-
If you have VCDS there is a 'flash count'. I did the same for my edition 30. Mine was not mapped.

Hey man welcome and what a beautiful red GTI, I have had my mk5 GTI for 6 months and did a test on the 0-60 before remap which was on average 6.8 seconds, after the remap i was getting around 5.8 - 6 but this will depend on what tyres you have on because after a remap there is so much torque you just get wheel spin. So if your 0-60 is around 6.8 it's not remapped anything closer to 6 then it will be brother.
